The Normal West softball team congratulates senior Sydney Hollings after hitting a home run against Bloomington

With the season about half over, the Wildcat softball team has a record of 11 – 5 overall. Starting pitcher Reganne Camp has lead the Wildcats to nine wins and one loss, additionally Savana Mattson has lead the Wildcats to one win and two losses.

On Saturday, March 9, 2016, pitcher Reganne camp struck out her 500th batter in her high school softball career. Since that game she has gone on to strike out 20 more batters.

On Tuesday, April 19th, Reganne Camp threw a five-inning no-hitter, leading the varsity softball team to a home win against Champaign Centennial with a score of 14-0.

This season the Wildcats have also been led by their offensive line up too. Junior Amanda Rodgers, senior Sydney Hollings, freshman Jaxynn Dyson, and senior Ellie Sonetz have all had a major role in the lady wildcats’ winning record.

Junior Amanda Rodgers and senior  Sydney Hollings  has hit two homeruns,  and freshman Jaxynn Dyson has hit three.

After the win against Centennial, the lady wildcats advanced in the Big 12 Conference play.

The wildcats will be playing Chatham Glenwood on April 22 and won 11 to 0. The Wildcats lost to both Lincoln-Way North 3 to 4 and East 2 to 3 on April 23.
