Normal West volleyball looks to postseason

Normal West volleyball has made a mark this year with a 26-6 record. The regular season is over and post season will begin to start with Regional games here at Normal West on Oct 27th-30th.

Their last game of the season was on Oct. 21st. against Urbana. After that comes regionals and sectionals. Coach Drendel said, “I am so proud of the girls and their accomplishments and I can’t wait to see how far we make it in Regionals.”

They have had some big accomplishments this year. Beating their in town rivals Bloomington and Normal Community, getting 2nd in intercity, and only losing one game in the Minooka Invitational. Maddie Williams(12) said,”Beating Bloomington on our own court in front of all our fans is a moment I’ll never forget.”

Senior night was a big night for the varsity team. Many of the seniors have been playing since their freshman year. Williams added, “It’s unbelievable it was already my senior night. It is exciting knowing that I’m going to play next year in the college level but I’ll miss my teammates and coaches.”It was a bittersweet night for all the senior players and their families. Senior Maddy Moser said, “I’ve made so many friendships through playing volleyball here at West. I’ll miss everyone but I’m excited to keep moving forward in my volleyball career in college.”

West is holding the Regional games in the North gym  on October 27th at 5:30, October 28th at 5:30, October 30th at 6:00, and sectionals is at  1pm on November 8th.  West will play against
