Boy’s fall sports recap

NCWHS Boys Fall Sports was a very successful this school year, as each and every day they improve and set different goals as an individual and as a team.

 

Football:

The Normal West Football season was successful. As they finished their season of (6-4) and made a playoff berth for the 6th year in a row. A season highlight was when they pulled a win over the 2nd ranked team in the state, Peoria High 64-39. As they lose most of their starting lineup due to graduating seniors, they expect another great season next year according to coach Darren Hess.

2015 Varsity Football

 

Golf:

The Varsity Boy’s Golf team was led by senior Brock Hirn and junior Brandon Bulls this season as they earned 1st place in Intercity and Conference play. Other season highlights were getting 2nd in Regionals and 1st at The Champaign Centennial Invite. First year coach Matthew Hoder is expecting 4 returning players and hopes for another successful season and hopefully qualify for state.

2015 Boys Golf

 

Cross Country:

Coach Destri was proud of his boys his season as they took 2nd in Intercity and 3rd in Big 12. Junior Glenn Kinley’s best memory this season was team bonding and team dinners because he was able to share stories and laugh with his teammates. Returning 6 out of 7 top runners, they expect a great season next year and hope to win conference and Intercity next year.

2015 Cross country

 

Soccer:

The Soccer team was led by senior captains Tim O’Brien and Ben Maynard. Some season highlights were beating Rock Island in Pk’s in the regional semi-final to have them compete for their second regional championship in a row. The wildcats lost in the Regional final match against Moline to end their season at (14-7-3). Senior Tim O’Brien’s best memory was being able to see Aidan Rich score his first goal. Coach Val Walker expects a good season next year as they return most of their starters and top scorers.
